TRAVEL NEW YORK SPECIAL - TIFFANY'S THE BLUE BOX CAFE
Hashtag #Breakfast at Tiffany’s
For a breakfast at Tiffany’s, you no longer have to eat your croissant and drink coffee outside its windows.
There are certain movie scenes that are so iconic, even decades later!
Such as the film „Breakfast at Tiffany’s“ from 1961, when Holly Golightly, played by Audrey Hepburn, stepped out of a yellow cab and walked to the window of Tiffany & Co.,while eating a croissant and carrying a cup of coffee outside of the building.
Tiffany’s has been so far „only“ a famed luxury jeweler and not a place where you could actually have breakfast. However, that changed on Friday, November 10th.
Tiffany & Co. opened the Blue Box Café at the company’s venerable flagship store at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street on its fourth floor, giving visitors a chance to look out at Central Park and score a fancy Instagram hashtag #Breakfastattiffanys like Holly probably would, if she existed in 2017.
Its first-ever retail concept will serve American classics that change with the season and reflect a sophisticated take on a variety of New York dishes.
The “Breakfast at Tiffany” menu starting at $29. The breakfast comes with coffee or tea, followed by a croissant and seasonal fruit and rounded out with your choice of a buttermilk waffle, smoked salmon and bagel stack, truffle eggs, or avocado toast.
The prix fixe lunch, which includes a starter and main courses like the Fifth Avenue salad, with Maine lobster, grapefruit and poppyseed dressing, and an olive-oil poached salmon, with caviar and smashed potatoes, costs $39.
Put on your Tiara and little black dress and create your own “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” story at the Blue Box Café in New York City!
